Q. Does New Jersey AIDS Services provide opportunities for volunteer involvement? A. Yes! Our achievements are made possible thanks to the efforts of numerous volunteers who share our goals. Q. How can I support New Jersey AIDS Services' work? A. We strongly believe in partnerships and rely heavily on the support of organizations and individuals who believe in our mission. There are several ways in which you can partner with us: get involved, support us or contact us.
Q. Is New Jersey AIDS Services a religious organization? A. No. Although we started as a grass roots effort driven by The Church of The Redeemer, we are a private, non-profit, non-sectarian organization.
Q. Is New Jersey AIDS Services just a transitional housing facility? A. Although our premier program is the Eric Johnson House transitional housing, New Jersey AIDS Services has a host of community initiatives and programs in response to the HIV/AIDS crisis. Q. What is New Jersey AIDS Services' annual operating budget? A. Our annual operating budget for FY 2009 is $750,000. This number does not include in-kind services and goods that are donated to New Jersey AIDS Services. Last year, 250 volunteers donated an estimated $22,500 worth of service to the organization.
Q. Who funds New Jersey AIDS Services? A. Financial support from government, foundations, corporations and individuals enables NJAS to undertake its wide variety of activities. Current major funders include Ryan White Title I, HOPWA, HUD, Morris County, MAC AIDS Foundation, AHS Foundation, Hyde and Watson Foundation, Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS Foundation, The New Jersey Ride Against AIDS, Merck & Co., Atlantic Health Systems, White's Pharmacy and Wellness Center of Morristown.
